This variety originates from about 750m altitude and therefore tolerates higher temperatures than other forms of the species common in cultivation. Hence, we class it as an ‘intermediate’ grower. When juvenile, the pitchers are pure lime green with attractive red-tinted leaves as the photos show. When mature, the pitchers develop a light red speckling but the peristomes remain a pure lime-green, in striking contrast to the red leaves.
