The female parent is one of the four clones of Nepenthes rajah, sold under BE-3152 and originating with Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. It has typical lower pitchers similar to that shown in the photo towards the end of the series. The male parent is a seed-grown plant of N. peltata, selected for the striking red coloration to the underside of its leaves.
